inSitu Sales allows you to geocode your customers. That means we take the current mailing address for each customer and try to get a GPS coordinate as accurate as possible. This will allow you to see your customer locations in maps and create visual territories that can be set as routes for your sales reps.
After each customer has a geolocation assigned on the system you can then create routes for your sales reps with this tool.
Before starting this guide make sure all your customers have address information on file.
NOTE: Accuracy of the location is provided by Google and the ability to do so might depend on the region.
Go to the ROUTES menu on the left toolbar
We must update the geolocation by clicking on Update customer location
You can select to update the location based on either billing address or shipping address.
Select the one that better fits your needs.
After this step the customers will show on the map when you select the Routes menu.
NOTE: If it is your first time updating location allow a few minutes for all the geolocations to update.
To create a route we must click on Add new route
On this next page you must assign the sales rep you want the route to be assigned to (Can be changed at a later time) and you have the option to assign the days of the week/month you would like the route to be on.
Next click on the hand symbol icon above the map to start drawing. You must box/encircle all the customers that you want on that route.
Every time you want to make a new line just click again to finish the current line and start the new one until you close the shape.
To select the starting or end customers you may click on them and then select the option.
You may also remove them from the route with this menu by clicking on Remove location
Now simply click on either option to calculate route and then Save route
